For FY2019 (fiscal year) the cruise port handled ~3,892 million tourists (1% increase over FY18). On December 1st, Port Everglades reported a new "One Day World Record" with handled cruise passengers (arriving and departing). The previous single-day record was also in Port Everglades and reported on March 13, 2016 (55885 passengers).

The average one-way metered taxi fare from FLL to Port Everglades is between $15 and $17. The fee jumps to $75 if you're taking a taxi from MIA and it's $130 to $160 for a taxi ride from PBI, which is about an hour from the port. Most cabs accept credit cards, but always ask before getting in.

Shuttle service is provided between the Palm Parking Garage and Terminal 29. Surface Lot 18 is adjacent to Terminal 18, while Lot 19 is located between Terminals 18 and 19. Hotel shuttles link several accommodation options in the Fort Lauderdale area with Port Everglades. Many hotels near Port Everglades provide free shuttles to and from the airport as well as the cruise port if you are staying overnight at the hotel. Sometimes this parking is included with a one night’s stay, other times you will need to book a parking package. Still other hotels charge a few bucks a day to park, but at a discount to parking at the port.
A little further west is Sawgrass Mills, a popular destination for bargain hunters. With nearly 400 retail outlets and restaurants, the shopping mall is one of the largest in the United States. Known for its art galleries and nightlife, there family-friendly area also has a wide selection of restaurants and shops.
